NCB, FSB (NCB) enables cooperative endeavors to grow and succeed. These enterprises are large and small. They serve rural and urban communities. They affect our lives everyday. NCB helps them by crafting financial solutions and delivering banking services tailored to their individual needs.
Our Impact
To date, NCB has provided billions in capital. Yet, to measure our true success, we look to what we have helped create over our history -- thousands of homeownership opportunities, vital member-owned cooperative businesses, community choices in education, quality healthcare facilities, cultural centers and much more.
Our Origins
NCB is a federally chartered thrift and a wholly owned subsidiary of National Consumer Cooperative Bank, a US government-chartered, member-owned cooperative corporation. Acquired in 1988, NCB has grown from a $9 million community savings bank into a national financial services company with more than $1.6 billion in assets.
Our Affiliate — NCB Capital Impact
NCB is able to have an even greater impact on underserved communities thanks to the partnership with our affiliate, NCB Capital Impact. Organized as a nonprofit 501(c)3, NCB Capital Impact provides nontraditional community development finance coupled with technical assistance, public policy outreach and development services.
Our Work Environment
As a boutique bank with a special commitment to community, NCB attracts a team of professionals interested in “more than just a banking career.” Our Human Resources department manages all employment inquiries.
Our Cooperative Heritage
Cooperatives are based on the values of self-help, self-responsibility, democracy and member-equity. In the tradition of our founders, cooperatives believe in conducting business in a responsible, ethical, and honest manner with the foremost commitment to improve the quality of life in the communities we serve.
