Mission: Strengthen the lifesaving capabilities of tactical medical responders worldwide.
The COALITION for Tactical Medicine (CTM) works on the behalf of military and civilian medical responders to fund scholarships for those wanting to acquire or advance their tactical medical skills and further their ability to save lives.
The Coalition will:
-Increase the number of men and women educated and effectively trained in tactical medicine.
-Share accurate news and emerging information relevant to tactical medicine.
-Serve as the definitive resource for tactical medicine knowledge and expertise.
-Facilitate access to lifesaving materials used in preparation for tactical emergencies.
-Drive ongoing improvement in the quality of tactical medicine guidelines and standards.
As the threat of terrorism in our nation continues, tactical medicine breakthroughs and the unique skills needed by responders to apply them competently continue to escalate in both military and civilian sectors. This includes the need for highly advanced tactical medical skills as well as basic lifesaving capabilities that may be needed by medical and non-medical personnel in dangerous, life-threatening situations. Many times, especially in the civilian sector, limited budgets have hindered the ability to provide requested funds for furthering this kind of education and/or training.
CTM will become a conduit for meeting these growing needs by seeking out and offering medical and non-medical personnel, scholarships to pay for tactical medical education and/or training including TCCC (Tactical Casualty Combat Care*). CTM will also share vital lifesaving information via the CTM web site and blog (MEDMASH).
