West Penn Allegheny Health System (WPAHS) is a physician-led healthcare organization based in Pittsburgh, Pa. Recognized as the healthcare quality and personalized service leader in its market, the organization’s sole purpose and mission is to improve the health of people in the Western Pennsylvania region.
This five-hospital network includes Allegheny General Hospital on the North Side, West Penn Hospital in Bloomfield, Alle-Kiski Medical Center in Natrona Heights, Canonsburg General Hospital in Canonsburg, and Forbes Regional Hospital in Monroeville. WPAHS admits nearly 78,000 patients, treats over 196,000 emergency room cases, and logs more than 806,850 outpatient visits each year.
West Penn Allegheny Health System’s specialty clinical and research programs continually receive national and international recognition – particularly in the areas of Bone and Joint, Cardiovascular, Neurosciences and Oncology, which make up the organization’s four Institutes of Excellence. Additionally, the 600-member Physician Organization is chaired by a highly skilled and elite group of doctors at the top of their respective fields.
WPAHS offers 46 graduate medical programs,serves as a campus for two medical school affiliations (Drexel University and Temple University) and operates two nusing schools.
