MVRF provides funding to leading scientists researching treatments for retinal diseases, such as macular degeneration and congenital childhood blindness.
Fearless funders of innovative research, one MVRF-funded study found the only known treatment for Leber's Congenital Amaurosis (RPE65), a genetic form of childhood blindness. MVRF is curing blindness!
MVRF has awarded $14.6 million over the last decade and, by the end of 2011, will have awarded another $2.25 million in research grants.
MVRF is unique. Every dollar raised goes directly to research. ALL expenses are paid by the Karen and Herb Lotman Foundation.

Macula Vision Research Foundation (MVRF.ORG) This question was asked of us from one of MVRF's monthly email blast recipients: "I am concerned about the recommendation that those with age-related wet MD need to take injections every 4-6 weeks, even after leakage has stopped. Is there any data about how long persons go WITHOUT injections after stopping injections. On what kind of data is the recommendation for continuing injections based?" Macula Vision Research Foundation (MVRF.ORG) Standing room only at MVRF's Southern Florida SupportSight Seminar this afternoon. Thanks to Drs. Scott Anagnoste and Nicole Patterson for being keynote speakers. While MVRF's mission is to find a cure for retinal diseases, including macular degeneration and congential childhood blindness, we remain committed to keeping those currently affected informed.
