Originally starting out as an Internet service provider in the UK and Australia in the early 1990's, the founders saw an opportunity to become an alternative supplier to BT during the UK Telecom's de-regulation period.
Already handling millions of minutes per month in Internet dial up traffic, it seemed a natural progression to enter the Telecom's market.
