Organized as an inter-municipal development agency, the SVA was founded in 1986 to retain and revitalize the region's economic base, focused on saving and building "high road" companies and jobs. It works regionally and nationally to develop and implement innovative community revitalization and capital formation initiatives. The Steel Valley Authority accomplishes its mission by focusing on Jobs, Community and Capital.
Our small, professional staff and advisors work regionally and nationally to revitalize American manufacturing through a number of important initiatives.
The Strategic Early Warning Network (SEWN) saves manufactuirng jobs by offering layoff aversion services to stabilize, restructure, turnaround, or attract buyers for at-risk small- to medium-sized manufacturing firms. SEWN services are provided to the manufacturer free of charge. SEWN's core services include Financial Restructuring, Operational Restructuring and Cost Management, Ownership Transition, High-Performance Workplace Strategies, and New Market Opportunities.
The Heartland Capital Strategies advance renewed prosperity by stewarding responsible investments in sustainable, domestic manufacturing and community development through education, research, and policy advocacy.
