Arterry stems from a dream; an adventure through a world populated by characters whose roles rely on the viewer’s perception. This is your investigation; you determine the meaning of the image. Where are we? How did we get here? What happens next? What we see is a moment of suspension – we have to leap from what we know to what we only suspect. The story that unfolds is as much yours as the artist’s; you complete the work.
Terence Sweeney was born on Merseyside and educated in Los Angeles, before returning to the UK to head a college art department in Surrey. He has exhibited in London and Los Angeles and has work in private collections in Britain and America.
Arterry is a father/son business co-directed by Sam and Terence Sweeney.
