Leonardo Academy is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1997 dedicated to advancing sustainability and putting the competitive market to work on improving the environment. Leonardo Academy works to develop and distribute strategies, guidance, metrics, standards, education, and information on how to increase sustainability. We also help companies, organizations, families, and individuals successfully promote, encourage, and implement sustainability. Our integrated approach lets us make sustainability very practical for everyone.
Our history demonstrates our commitment to and knowledge of the U.S. Green Building Council's (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Rating System. Leonardo Academy has been deeply involved in the development of LEED since we joined the USGBC in 1999. We have been particularly involved in the development of the USGBC’s LEED for Existing Buildings (LEED-EB) Rating System, which provides a framework for auditing and improving the sustainable performance of buildings.
Our services and programs include LEED® implementation and certification, emissions footprints, reductions and offsets, supply chain sustainability, overall sustainability assessments and implementation, sustainable standards development, land management, and training.
