Since its foundation, CEBRI has become an important space where society can reflect on and discuss issues concerning the international agenda. CEBRI was conceived in 1998 by a group of entrepreneurs, scholars and diplomats as a non-profit, independent, multidisciplinary and non-partisan entity. It is widely recognized for the study and debate of crucial themes of Brazilian foreign policy and international relations. During its structuring process CEBRI received valuable support both from the government and private sector. More recently, its institutional strengthening was obtained through a fundraising effort that attracted new members and international institutions that sponsor projects, publications and events. CEBRI´s by-law regulates the functions of its Trustees and Advisory Boards, Executive Committee and Secretariat, as well as establishes member categories. Financial and service support from its thirty-two sponsor companies has enabled CEBRI to produce a greater volume of specific information and knowledge. The Center is responsible for a number of publications, such as CEBRI Dossier, Articles, and Thesis, Newsletters and weekly clippings (Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe, and Middle East). Its projects generate studies, bulletins, working documents and reports. CEBRI also organizes lectures, seminars, round tables, task forces and study groups. The substantial increase in the number of events and the wide range of themes have attracted a larger and more diverse public. CEBRI is considered one of Brazil’s main think tanks for international relations and foreign policy discussions.
