Rutgers WPF and its mission
Sexuality and relationships are important aspects of everyone’s lives. Good sexual and reproductive health positively affects people’s well-being. Clear and reliable information on sexuality is vital in helping people to make informed decisions.
Rutgers WPF is a renowned expert centre on sexual and reproductive health and rights. Its activities are mainly carried out in the Netherlands, Africa and Asia. Its aim is to improve sexual and reproductive health and rights throughout the world, specifically focussing on young people, women and vulnerable groups like the disabled or chronically ill. Rutgers WPF supports partner organisations and professionals in their work, increasing their expertise on sexuality.
Rutgers WPF evolved from the merger of the Rutgers Nisso Groep, Dutch expert centre on sexuality, and the World Population Foundation (WPF). Rutgers WPF is a member of IPPF, the International Planned Parenthood Federation.

Rutgers WPF has 75 employees working from the Netherlands, a country with a long history in the area of sexual and reproductive health and rights.
