Bachman Academy is a boarding and day school for students in grades 6-12 who have learning differences like Dyslexia or AD/HD. As a school whose mission is to empower students who have learning differences to develop the skills and values necessary for success in our global community, Bachman Academy provides a language-rich program of study emphasizing active learning. In addition to college-prep academics, the academy offers career education in equine studies, mechanics, woodworking, and horticulture. Students who successfully complete either course of study will have earned a high school diploma recognized by the State of Tennessee.
Bachman Academy is dually-accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the Southern Association of Independent Schools (SACS/SAIS). Located in the village of McDonald, Tennessee, the Academy is 20 miles north of Chattanooga, situated on just over 200 acres, 20 minutes away from the Cherokee National Forest, the Hiwassee River, and the Ocoee River.
