Community Tampa Bay is a five year old agency carrying forward a 60 year strong mission. Formerly a regional office of the National Conference for Community and Justice, the agency became independent in 2005.
The mission of Community Tampa Bay is to promote dialogue and respect among all cultures, religions and races by cultivating leaders to change communities. We envision a community free from discrimination in which every individual is treated with dignity and respect.
Our core values are apparent in the way of work of our staff, Board, volunteers and programs:
We value diversity, the multiple respects in which people differ. We seek to understand our differences and our common ground through dialogue.
We value inclusion, the practice of ensuring that people feel they belong. We include multiple perspectives to ensure a rich tapestry of viewpoints and ideas.
We value engagement, and honor the relationships that hold emerging leaders accountable. We appreciate and expect civic engagement from our stakeholders and each other.
Launched in 1991, the ANYTOWN progarm continues to be the premier youth leadership and diversity education program in Tampa Bay. The 20th anniversary was celebrated in 2011. This program is complemented by our other youth programs: Hillsborough Youth Collaborative, FLY, Youth Conferences and Unity Days reaching over 2500 individuals each year.
