GroundWork Renewables Inc. provides a variety of field services in renewable energy to supply clients with the knowledge necessary to create sustainable and profitable energy projects. Groundwork’s core competency is in the installation and maintenance of wind and solar measurement devices, providing crucial data to determine the economics of a potential site and reduce the uncertainty of energy production.
Originally founded in 2002 as Windfinders, Inc. in Flagstaff, Arizona, the firm was among the first to support early stage wind development in Arizona through resource assessments and field project management. Windfinders was a member of the Arizona Wind Working Group which developed the Arizona Wind Map. In addition, Windfinders supported Northern Arizona University’s Arizona State Land Wind Assessment.
In 2006, Windfinders helped to develop Arizona’s first wind commercial scale farm, the Dry Lake Wind Project. The 63MW Dry Lake Wind Power Project was developed and is operated by Iberdrola Renewables, the largest provider of wind power in the world.
In 2007, Windfinders expanded its service offering to the entire Southwest and moved to California. The firm then expanded its service offering to provide field engineering to support solar resource assessment programs.
In 2009, Ann Gaglioti took over leadership of Windfinders. Under her guidance, the firm has narrowed its focus to installation, maintenance and project management services in support of renewable measurement and development. In addition to this specialized focus, the firm has become intensely client focused, expanded the team, and rebranded to GroundWork Renewables, Inc. GroundWork is proud to have as clients developers, municipalities, independent engineers, and solar technology providers.
We are proud members of ACORE, AWEA and SEIA.
