Yapı Merkezi Construction and Industry was founded in 1965 as the first company of the Yapı Merkezi Group. In its initial years, its activities were focussed on the design of important projects and the construction of industrial facilities. Starting with the 80's, its activities shifted towards large scale general contracting works, especially the design and construction of metro and tramway projects. In its successful history, the company has realised many bridges, viaducts, multi-story car parks, touristic facilities, housing and integrated industrial projects.

As a result of its considerable experience, today, Yapı Merkezi is the leader in Turkey in the design and construction of rail systems.

Yapı Merkezi has been included in the "Top 225 International Constractors List" published annually by ENR-Engineering News Record since 1995.
