In July 1997, Wyle Electronics entered into an agreement and plan of merger with Raab Karcher AG, pursuant to which EBV Electronics, Inc., an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Raab Karcher, would be merged with and into Wyle, which would become an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Raab Karcher. Wyle Electronics operated as an electronics distributor, as of March 31, 1997. It marketed semiconductors and computer products, as well as provided value-added services. These services included materials management systems and engineering design for application-specific integrated circuits.
