Univision Communications, Inc., through its wholly owned subsidiaries, operates as a Spanish-language media company in the United States. It operates through four segments: Television, Radio, Music, and Internet. The Television segment operates primarily the Univision, TeleFutura, and Galavision television networks; and Univision Television Group (UTG) and TeleFutura Television Group (TTG) owned and operated broadcast television stations. UTG includes one station in Salt Lake City, Utah. TTG includes six stations in Boston, Massachusetts; Orlando and Tampa, Florida; Denver, Colorado; Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Washington D.C. This segment also owns two stations, WLII and WSUR, in Puerto Rico. The Radio segment owns and operates 69 radio stations in 16 of the 25 U.S. Hispanic markets, and 4 radio stations in Puerto Rico. The Music segment owns and operates the Univision Records label, the Fonovisa Records label, SGZ Records label, and La Calle label. The Internet segment operates an Internet portal, Univision.com, which provides Spanish-language content directed at Hispanics in the United States, Mexico, and Latin America. This segment appeals various consumer interests, such as entertainment, sports, news, personal finance, and shopping. The company was incorporated in 1992 as Perenchio Communications, Inc. and changed its name to Univision Communications, Inc. in 1996. Univision Communications is headquartered in Los Angeles, California. As of March 29, 2007, Univision Communications Inc. has gone private.
