The University of Western Sydney, also known as UWS, is a university in New South Wales, Australia.
UWS has campuses in the Greater Western Sydney suburbs of Rydalmere, Westmead, Richmond, Quakers Hill, Werrington South, Werrington North, Kingswood, Milperra and Campbelltown. UWS is mainly a provider of undergraduate degrees but has growing profile in postgraduate studies and research. UWS has recently opened a medical school, and teams from the School of Law won the 2003 National Final, Law Council of Australia, Family Law Mooting Competition and Winner 2008 Australasian Law Students Association Mooting Competition.
In 2007, the University has over 35,000 students, 1,100 (full-time equivalent) academic staff and 1,200 general staff.
