Tippett Studio® is an Academy Award®-winning VFX company specializing in high-end character animation and visual effects primarily for theatrical movies. Animation pioneer Phil Tippett founded the company in his garage in 1984. The first creation was a short, stop-motion dinosaur movie, Prehistoric Beast. That venture grew into today’s Tippett Studio, employing up to 225 artists and technicians occupying five buildings in Berkeley, California.

Over the past 24 years, Tippett Studio has contributed significant visual effects to over 60 feature films and commercials, and garnered multiple Emmys®, Clios®, Academy Awards®, and nominations. Tippett Studio’s work serves many genres: family, action, comedy, sci-fi and horror with character animation, environment creation, FX animations and simulations. Clients include all of the major feature studios, notably Disney, Paramount, Fox, Sony, Universal, Walden Media, and Warner Brothers.
