Since 1959, The Second City has established itself as a the premier institution for improvisation. The Chicago theatre has two resident stages: The Second City Mainstage, which seats 290, The Second City e.t.c., which seats 180, and Donny's Skybox features an eclectic mix of student productions as well as other alternative shows. Our operation in Toronto has a theatre which seats 320. The Second City also has touring troupes that take our shows on the road, as well as a partnership with Norwegian Cruise Lines hosting 6 casts upon the high seas. We have a Training Center that teaches improvisation, acting, writing, and other skills in Chicago, Toronto and Los Angeles. Second City also has and a corporate communications division in both Chicago and Toronto that services the international business community.
