Collaborative Group was acquired by Engelhard Corp. on 07/30/2004. The Collaborative group Ltd provides products and services to cosmetic, personal care, pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. This holding company was organized in 1996 and has two major subsidiaries: Collaborative Laboratories, Inc. (CLI) and Clear Solutions Biotech Inc. (CSBI), the other subsidiaries being Collaborative Connection Inc. and Phillip Rockley Ltd. CLI is a specialty raw material manufacturer for the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries. CLI’s core competency is its platform technology for the design of liposome’s as delivery systems to encapsulate vitamins, botanicals, antioxidants, enzyme inhibitors, chemotherapeutic agents, diagnostics, vaccines, DNA and other materials. CLI acts as a raw material supplier to the less-regulated cosmetic and personal care industries, and also provides testing and product development services to these industries. CSBI utilizes a patented enabling chemical technology for the development of new derivatives of hyaluronic acid, which have many uses in drug delivery and structural biomaterial applications. Many of CSBI’s HA derivatives are also used for the formulation of personal care products. Phillip Rockley, Ltd., produces marine-derived raw materials for use in cosmetic and personal care products. CCI provides the cosmetic industry with consumer panelists for evaluations of new and established products.
