The Carter Center Inc. is a not-for-profit center that addresses national and international issues of public policy in partnership with Emory University. The center seeks to prevent and resolve conflict, promote democracy, protect human rights, and prevent disease and other afflictions. Its health programs include the River Blindness Program, the Guinea Worm Eradication program, the Global 2000 Program, and the Mental Health Program. The Carter Center was founded in 1982 and is based in Atlanta, Georgia.
