Telespazio, a joint venture between Finmeccanica (67%) and Thales (33%), is one of the world’s leading operators in satellite services. The company employs 1,700 staff and operates a network of 4 space centres and 25 sites all over the world. These include the Fucino Space Centre, which has more than 90 operational antennas and is the largest space centre in the world for civil use.
Telespazio plays a leading role harnessing technological experience and through its participation in major European space programmes such as: Galileo, EGNOS, GMES and COSMO-SkyMed. The company is member of the Space Alliance between Finmeccanica and Thales.

Telespazio business:
Satellite operations - integrated solutions covering the space mission value chain: definition, development and integration of the ground segment as well as launch assistance and satellite orbit positioning (LEOP). Telespazio provides telemetry services, TT&C, operations and ground segment management.
Defence – primary satellite service provider for the Italian MoD it has a strategic role in the SICRAL constellation.
Networks & Connectivity – Telespazio’s wide and long-standing presence in the satcom services produced an extensive up-to-date product portfolio: Fixed Platforms; Mobile Platforms; Telecommunication Infrastructure.
Earth Observation - Telespazio carries out all EO activities: data acquisition and processing, SW and products. Telespazio has developed the entire ground segment of the Italian Space Agency and Ministry of Defence COSMO-SkyMed programme, based on a constellation of 4 radar satellites. E-GEOS, an ASI and Telespazio JV, is responsible for COSMO-SkyMed data commercialization. Telespazio takes part in GMES, the ESA programme for surveillance and homeland security.
Navigation & Infomobility - key operator in navigation and localisation services, it is involved in the development of Galileo system and will manage one of the Galileo control centres at the Fucino.
