TD Tech Communication Technologies Ltd., registered in Hongkong, is a joint venture between Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) (51%) and Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. (49%) for development and manufacturing of TD-SCDMA technologies and related products.
Headquartered in Beijing, China, and with an R&D Center in Shanghai, TD Tech Ltd. has a workforce of more than 700 employees. TD Tech is a member of the TD-SCDMA Industry Alliance. As foundation members of the TD-SCDMA Forum, both parent companies Siemens and Huawei have been in the forefront of TD-SCDMA Technology right from the start.
In China, TD-SCDMA is colocated with GSM Networks for multi-mode operation. TD-SCDMA provides the cost-effective 3G Radio Access Network Solution (RAN, UTRAN) for seamless integration into existing UMTS Mobile Networks, complementary to W-CDMA (UMTS FDD). Compliant with ITU / 3GPP Standard UMTS TDD Release 4, TD-SCDMA is optimized for worldwide mobile Internet and data services.
