The ServiceMaster Company provides various services to residential and commercial customers primarily in the United States. It operates in five segments: TruGreen LawnCare, TruGreen LandCare, Terminix, American Home Shield, and Other Operations. The TruGreen LawnCare segment provides lawn care services. The TruGreen LandCare segment provides landscape maintenance services. The Terminix segment provides termite and pest control services. The American Home Shield segment provides home warranty contracts for systems and appliances, and home inspection services. It provides residential customers with contracts to repair or replace electrical, plumbing, central heating, and central air conditioning systems; hot water heaters and appliances that break down due to wear and tear; and services those contracts through independent repair contractors. The Other Operations segment provides disaster response and reconstruction services, residential and commercial disaster restoration and cleaning services, domestic house cleaning services, and on-site furniture repair and restoration services. As of December 31, 2006, the company provided services through a network of approximately 5,500 company-owned locations and franchise licenses. The ServiceMaster was founded in 1929 and is based in Memphis, Tennessee.
