Saab AB engages in the development, manufacture, and delivery of products and services for the defense, aviation, space, and commercial markets. It operates in three segments: Defense and Security Solutions, Systems and Products, and Aeronautics. Defense and Security Solutions segment offers combat management system, which links command and control centers, aerial surveillance through land-based and airborne radar, and radio and data communication between bases and aircraft; combat management systems for land, sea and airborne forces; various support and consulting services, including systems development, systems integration, and information and civil security; and surveillance systems for monitoring a country’s airspace, borders, and coastline, as well as systems for sea surveillance, security, and rescue operations; and radio communication system. In addition, this segment develops Sjoöbasis, an information system that collates, coordinates, and communicates maritime surveillance and information. The Systems and Products segments develops and manufactures various missile systems; electronic warfare systems; training and simulation systems; signature management systems; and underwater systems, including torpedoes and remote-controlled underwater vehicle; and equipment for the space industry, such as computers, microwave electronics, and antennas for satellites, as well as separation systems. The Aeronautics segment develops, manufactures, and maintains fighter and commercial aircraft focusing on military and commercial sectors. In addition, this segment leases its commercial aircrafts; offers maintenance and component services; engages in target towing and special flight operations; and develops unmanned aerial vehicles.
