In June 2008, Purple Labs acquired the Client Software Business of Californian based Openwave Inc. The leader in mobile browser and messaging software. This acquisition means that Purple Labs now serve the Top 5 mobile handset manufactuers in the world, who combined account for over 80% of global handset shipments.

In July 2008, Purple Labs announced its intention to acquire the application business of Sagem Mobiles. It is anticipated this acquisition will close at 2008 Year end.
