As of May 14, 2002, PRI Automation, Inc. was acquired by Brooks Automation Inc. PRI Automation, Inc. supplies automation systems, software, and services to the semiconductor industry. Its solutions address automation requirements for semiconductor manufacturers and for Original Equipment Manufacturers of semiconductor process tools. In December 2001, the company launched a new suite of Advanced Process Control software designed to help semiconductor manufacturers improve process yields, fab throughput, and device performance. In the same month, PRI released PROMIS® Encore!® Performance, a software solution that simplifies complex factory operations.
