Its video services provide satellite transponder capacity and other satellite and terrestrial services for the transmission of entertainment, news, sports, and educational programming for content providers worldwide. The segments network services offer satellite transponder capacity and other satellite and terrestrial network services to telecommunications carriers, multinational corporations, and network service providers for relaying voice, video, and data communications. It also offers telemetry, tracking, and control services, which include monitoring and maintaining the proper orbital location and orientation of a satellite, monitoring on-board systems, adjusting transponder levels, and remotely bringing backup systems online in the event of a subsystem failure. The Government Services segment provides satellite and related telecommunications services to the U.S. government, international government entities, and their contractors. It offers transponder capacity on its satellites, as well as other mobile and fixed satellite systems. PanAmSat also provides satellite services and related technical support for live transmissions for news and special events coverage.
