Oi is the main provider of telecommunications services within its region of operations, Brazil's largest telecoms operator, in terms of revenue, and the biggest wireline telephony company in South America, in terms of total lines.
Through Telemar Norte Leste S.A., the company has concession to provide wireline services in 16 states that comprise National Region I and, through TNL PCS, are also authorized to provide wireless services, and have pioneered the introduction of GSM technology in Brazil.
