Morse, Barnes-Brown & Pendleton, P.C. provides legal services to clients in the areas of business, securities, technology and tax law in a more responsive and cost-effective manner than the large downtown law firms.
Our People.
The seven members of the firm are veteran lawyers with 10 to more than 25 years of legal experience. All previously practiced at major Boston law firms, and one also served as in-house counsel to a major software company. Our practice is not leveraged by the use of inexperienced lawyers, as in large firms, and so our clients are always served directly by a lawyer who can bring to bear many years of experience and judgment. We recognize, however, that certain tasks are performed just as capably and more economically by less senior lawyers. Accordingly, our associates, all of whom have at least four years of large firm experience, are actively involved in our practice in order that we may serve our clients as effectively and efficiently as possible. Our support staff also are experienced professionals.

Our Practice Philosophy.
We work to establish close, long-term working relationships with our clients, and we take the time to understand their businesses, objectives and management styles so that we can anticipate and respond to their needs. We develop practical solutions to legal and business problems. We believe we serve our clients best when we are charged with the management of the entire legal function -- acting as outsourced in-house counsel without the fixed overhead of on-staff lawyers. For clients with in-house counsel, we are part of the legal team, performing various roles in close cooperation with the general counsel and management.

Our Technology Platform.
Continued investment in advanced but proven technologies allows us to serve our clients efficiently without a large support staff. Our information and communication systems include networked attorney workstations, remote LAN access, desktop email and internet access, CD-ROM and on-line legal research capability, and a voice mail system that is employed to enhance rather than hinder client access. An extensive, well organized database of legal forms, used with document scanning and assembly technology, streamlines drafting of legal documents by eliminating 'reinvention of the wheel' and by enabling the responsible attorney to revise documents directly rather than involving multiple attorneys and support staff in successive iterations of the same draft. In short, our technology suite is the means by which the firm’s unique structure and philosophy are translated into uncommon client service.

Either the firm or one of its attorneys are members of the 128 Venture Group, the Massachusetts Telecommunications Council, the Association for Corporate Growth, and our attorneys are directors of the Massachusetts Tech Corps, Inc., Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Massachusetts, Inc. and the New England-Latin America Business Council, Inc.

Our Fees.
Because our overhead costs are substantially below those of the large downtown firms
