The Moore Company develops and manufactures elastic fabrics and rubber materials primarily in the United States. It operates through five divisions: Darlington Fabrics, George C. Moore, Fulflex, Moeller, and Amer-Sil. The Darlington Fabrics division designs and sells raschel, tricot, and satin warp-knit elastic fabrics for use in swimwear, activewear, intimate apparel, ready-to-wear, and theatrical costumes. It also supplies prepared-for-print fabrics for various segments of the print industry. The George C. Moore division manufactures narrow elastic woven fabrics for intimate apparel, menswear, medical and orthopedic softgoods, and athletic wear segments. The Fulflex division manufactures thin gauge natural and synthetic rubber calendered elastic products. It also has operations in the United States, Ireland, Luxembourg, and Singapore. The Moeller division supplies custom plastic component parts to a variety of original equipment manufacturer and aftermarket accounts. It provides boat builder with their plastic fuel tank requirements, ranging from bass boats to offshore salt water fishing boats. The Amer-Sil division produces microporous polymer/silica separators for use in industrial lead acid batteries. It also manufactures non-woven polyester gauntlets for tubular plates, and technical papers and filtration media. The Moore Company was founded in 1909 and is based in Westerly, Rhode Island.
