MIZAR AUTOMAZIONE: 25 years experience in the design and implementation of advanced ''Intelligent Transport Systems'' (ITS). Over the years MIZAR has acquired a strong reputation in Europe for its ability to design, develop and implement advanced telematics systems. The company's best known products UTOPIA Urban Traffic Control system, the public transport management system FLASH and the Infomobility service platform MISTIC have been installed in numerous European cities. Many of these deployments consist of large-scale integrated ITS applications.

MIZAR's products and services are distinguished by their technological excellence and innovative content. The company maintains a strong focus on R&D and is currently involved in several major European research projects.

Strategic management of the company is in the joint hands of two Managing Directors, respected experts on transport telematics issues: Vito Mauro (founder of the company), manager for Market and Business Development, and Alfredo Bolelli (also in the company since its foundation), manager for Operations. MIZAR currently has around 80 highly qualified employees who have consolidated their expertise in transport telematics through participation in research initiatives as well as practical experience of deployment of MIZAR’s systems in the field.

In May 2005, SWARCO EUROPE became a 27% shareholder in MIZAR AUTOMAZIONE, the Italian traffic and transport system specialist. This has given SWARCO TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT the opportunity to market leading-edge software, such as MIZAR's well-known urban traffic control system UTOPIA. In August 2006 SWARCO acquired a 55% share in MIZAR, which has its Head Office in Turin and branch offices in Verona, Rome, and Naples.
