As of October 30, 2001, Micrografx, Inc. was acquired by Corel Corporation. Prior to being acquired, Micrografx, Inc. developed software for business use in the areas of process management, management of technical graphics, and visual commerce. Micrografx developed the software through a combination of its Enterprise Process Management and Technical Graphics technologies and its consulting, training and development services. The Enterprise Process Management technologies like iGrafx Process provided companies with easy to use tools to document and improve current business processes, by identifying problem areas and running what if scenarios to test revisions of the process before actual implementation. Through the use of its Technical Graphics technologies, like the ActiveCGM suite of products, companies could utilize existing technical illustrations, make modifications, add hot spots, incorporate animation and publish the illustrations to the web. In April 2001, Micrografx had launched iGrafx IDEF0 2000, its latest diagramming solution designed to rapidly build consistent and structured IDEF0 business models.
