W. Brandon Phillips and Eric Castelli co-founded LashBack, LLC in 2003. It has grown to epitomize real tech economy, Web 2.0 companies living the startup dream with an in-demand product and a list of industry-leading clients. At the same time in 2003, the US Congress passed the CAN-SPAM Act to regulate commercial email and fulfill the promise of an email marketplace. Email marketers and the Federal Trade Commission, the nation's consumer protection agency, had few means available to actually enforce CAN-SPAM regulations until LashBack. Many regulators openly talked about the need for the technology to develop from within the email industry to make compliance a reality and LashBack has delivered.
