Jumpstart is a national non-profit organization working toward the day every child in America enters school prepared to succeed. Jumpstart was founded in 1993 at Yale University at the intersection of two national trends: the public need for quality early childhood programs and the emerging national service movement recruiting thousands of college students to community service. Since then Jumpstart has become one of the fastest growing non-profit organizations in the country. For the past four years, Jumpstart has been named one of the top nonprofit organizations in the country by Monitor Group and Fast Company (through the Social Capitalist Awards). Since 2002, our network has grown by 20% each year (on average), nearly tripling the number of children served annually. We now connect thousands of Corps members from colleges and universities with nearly 15,000 children across the nation.
