Inktomi Corporation provides World Wide Web search services for Internet portal and search destination sites. Its Web Search provides a customizable, private label solution that enables portals and destination sites to serve differentiated, relevant search results. The company's Web Search, through its paid inclusion services, also provides content publishers access to end users through portal and destination site customers of its search engine services. Inktomi's primary competitors include AltaVista, Ask Jeeves, FAST Search and Transfer, Google, Overture, LookSmart, and Northern Light. In December 2002, Verity, Inc. acquired the company's enterprise search software business. As of March 9, 2003, Inktomi Corporation is a subsidiary of Yahoo! Inc.
