Hyundai Motors India Engineering Private Limited (HMIEPL) incorporated on 09th November 2006 as a subsidiary of Hyundai Motor India Limited, Chennai, Tamilnadu (Major Car manufacturing unit) and having its registered office at H-1 Sipcot Industrial Park, Irrungutakottai, Sriperambudur Taluk, Tamilnadu, India. HMIEPL occupied its leased premise of 14,700 sq. feet in Ilabs Centre. The current strength of employee around 200 numbers in various fields and having rich experience in Research & Development filed. It is envisaged that in near future the company is going to employ 800 in a period of 2 years for undertaking the widen job scope in R&D segment in full swing. The company’s main objective is to undertake the Basic, Application Oriented and Strategic Research in Information & Communication Technologies including Software, Telemetric, and Simulation Systems, for all kinds of vehicles and drive systems. The company has set up a 100 % Export Oriented Unit Research & Development centre at Block C on 9th floor, Plot No.18, iLabs Centre, Madhapur, Hyderabad. The company provides the engineering services through Computer Aided Designing (CATIA) & Computer Aided Engineering (Hypermesh) tools in designing the automobiles parts. These engineering services will be fully utilized by its parent company, Hyundai Motor Company, and Kia Motors Corporate of Republic of Korea.


Through the operation of a global R&D network, Hyundai Motor Company is able to secure highly-skilled research personnel overseas, create advanced new technologies and future-oriented automobiles, and better develop products suited to the realities of each region.

Hyundai and Kia together have R&D centres in the United States, Europe, Japan apart from the global R&D headquarters at Ulsan, Korea.
