It operates in four divisions: Freudenberg Seals and Vibration Control Technology, Nonwovens, Household Products, and Specialties and Others. The Freudenberg Seals and Vibration Control Technology division produces vibration control solutions for manufacturers of agricultural and construction machinery, rail vehicles, and machines. It also produces and markets mechanical seals, expansion joints, magnetic couplings, and special automotive seals, as well as offers anti-vibration components and solutions to customers in the automotive industry. The Nonwovens division engages in the development, production, and marketing of nonwovens products for a range of applications, such as interlinings, filters, tuft backings, and nonwovens for various technical applications and medical and hygiene products. This division’s primary products include Evolon, a textile made of microfilaments; Comfortemp, a climate control material; and Novolon, a three-dimensional nonwoven product. The Household Products division produces mechanical household cleaning products and laundry care products under the brands ‘vileda’ and ‘O-Cedar’. The Specialties and Others division offers a portfolio of 2,500 specialty lubricants primarily to original equipment manufacturers; release agents for rubber, plastic, and polyurethane components, as well as to the metal casting industry; and cleaning granulate for the plastics, hydraulic fluids, and oils. The company also provides rubber floor covering systems and shoe components. In addition, it provides information technology services to small and medium-sized businesses specializing in automotive supply, discrete manufacturing, logistics, roll based industry, and technical trade. Freudenberg was founded in 1849 and is based in Weinheim, Germany.
