EPCOR Power L.P. engages in the ownership and operation of power generation assets that generate electricity and power from a combination of natural gas, waste heat, wood waste, water flow, coal, and tire-derived fuel resources in Canada and the United States. It builds, owns, and operates power plants, electrical transmission and distribution networks, water and wastewater treatment facilities, and infrastructure. As of December 31, 2006, the partnership owned a portfolio of 20 power generation assets in British Columbia and Ontario provinces in Canada; and in California, Colorado, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, and Washington in the United States. It also owns a 15.4 per cent interest in Primary Energy Recycling Holdings, which owns recycled energy assets in the United States. EPCOR Power Services, Ltd. serves as the general partner of EPCOR Power L.P. The partnership, formerly known as TransCanada Power, L.P., was founded in 1997. EPCOR Power L.P. is headquartered in Edmonton, Canada.
