Easics, formed in 1992 as a spin off from the Katholieke Universiteit Lueven, in Belgium, designs digital ASICs for applications in the telecommunications and datacommunications industries. Easics provides external design resources and expertise in the areas of VHDL and C/C++ based design to operate in conjunction with the in-house design teams of system houses and electronics companies. Corporate clients include such companies as Philips, Alcatel and Motorola. As of May 9, 2000, Easics NV is a subsidiary of TranSwitch Corp.
