DLJ Merchant Banking Partners is an investment arm of Credit Suisse specializing in investments in leveraged buyouts and related transactions in the middle market. It seeks to invest in a broad range of industries with a focus on financial services; industrials; media, publishing, and education; healthcare; retail and consumer products; energy and power; technology and telecommunications; and services. The firm primarily invests in North America and Europe. It typically invests between $20 million and $200 million of equity capital with a variety of value-added co-investment and other investment alternatives in its portfolio companies. The firm can be a lead investor or could take a substantial minority position with board representation in its portfolio companies. It invests in larger transactions in partnership with strategic and financial sponsors.
