Corus Group plc engages in the manufacture, processing, and distribution of metal products worldwide. It operates in three divisions: Strip Products, Long Products, Distribution and Building Systems.

This segment also produces steel tubes for various industrial uses, including lighting columns, transmission poles for electrical services, ships’ masts and derricks, oil, gas, water and air mains, and scaffolding tubes.

The Long Products division comprises the manufacture and sale of section products, plates, wire rod, engineering steels, and semi-finished carbon steel products. This segment’s products are used in the construction, engineering, mining, and railway industries; and automotive components, earth-moving equipment, forklift trucks, and the mining industry.

The Distribution and Building Systems division comprises regionally focused service centers, stockholding, and further materials processing, including building products. This segment also supplies commercial grade steel and related products to service centres, rerollers, and end users; and provides supply chain management services for steel, aluminum, and associated products and services.

The company was founded in 1999 and is headquartered in London. As of April 2, 2007, Corus Group plc is a subsidiary of Tata Steel Ltd.
