Barbara Dettman Fleming founded Consultis in 1984 with the know how she acquired through a lifelong apprenticeship she served with her father, Leroy E. Dettman, founder of what is now known as Spherion. In the early forties, Leroy started a staffing company in Chicago, IL called City Car Unloaders. He is considered to be a pioneer in the staffing industry just as his daughter was an early pioneer in the IT staffing industry.
