CityJet, based in Dublin, began operations in January 1994. Today the airline is a 100% owned subsidiary of Air France. CityJet carried more than 1.9 million passengers in 2007/08. In 2008 CityJet received the “Airline of the Year 2008/9 Silver Award” from the European Regions Airline Association.

VLM Airlines became part of the Air France – KLM group in 2008, and has combined its network as of May 2009 with CityJet to enable customers to access to the largest number of destinations from London City Airport. With a fleet of almost 50 aircraft (Avro RJ85 + Fokker 50) CityJet operates 50% of all flights at London City Airport to 16 European destinations like Dublin, Edinburgh, Amsterdam, Paris and Luxembourg.
