Boston Medical Center (BMC) HealthNet Plan is a 501(c)(3) status (non-profit) managed care organization providing affordable, high-quality health coverage to low- and moderate-income Massachusetts residents through its Commonwealth Care and MassHealth plans.

Founded in 1997 by Boston Medical Center, BMC HealthNet Plan serves 250,000 MassHealth and Commonwealth Care members throughout the State. The Plan contracts with more than 15,000 providers and hospital systems throughout Massachusetts.

BMC HealthNet Plan is an active participant in its communities. The Plan educates community groups and the individuals they serve about the affordable, high-quality health coverage available through the state’s Commonwealth Care and MassHealth programs and how to apply for it.

In addition, through collaborative activities which educate both children and adults about various wellness topics, including the importance of exercise and eating right, BMC HealthNet Plan staff works with local organizations to improve the overall health of Massachusetts residents.

The Plan has formed “outreach” teams of employees working across Massachusetts – Boston, Northern, Central, Western, and Southern. This regional presence allows our teams to get to know the people and the needs of the communities that surround our offices in Boston, New Bedford, Springfield, and Pittsfield. We work with individuals and organizations to help make a difference in those communities.
