The Arizona Technology Council is a member-driven trade association focused on the success of the technology industry in Arizona.
Public policy and government relations have become a core competency of the Council. Since 2005, the Council led the initiative to create the Angel Investment Tax Credit, the initiative to expand and enhance the R & D Tax Credit, and will soon be working on it being tradable or refundable. We supported the GPEC initiative to create a renewable energy tax credit.
We will do 120 events this year that are either educational/informational, awards or networking events. We do breakfast events called Council Connect, Lunch & Learns, and After5 networking events. Many of these events showcase our members. We have CEO Networks, a Partnering Conference, a CEO Retreat, Quarterly Keynote events, the Governor’s Celebration of Innovation, and on and on. We replicate these programs in Tucson where we have a regional office.
We have updated TechConnect magazine, retooled our Web site, and created Member-to-Member Discount Programs (over 30) and launched endorsed Affinity Programs for Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability and Property & Casualty Insurance.
The Council has over 500 members. The statistically sound Member Listening Survey done in January indicated 2/3rds of our members were satisfied or very satisfied with the Council performance over the previous 12 months.
We have 6 standing committees all chaired by members and populated by members. We provide staffing and execute on their ideas. Hundreds of members participate.
As a result of our Board strategic planning process, we have 4 Task Forces focused on big issues. Each are co-chaired by Board members and populated with Board members.
We collaborate with AZBio, Phoenix Chamber, AZ Chamber, Scottsdale Chamber, Tucson Chamber, AZIGG, ASBA, GPEC, TREO, GPL, ACG, SFA, and more. The Council is always looking for ways to partner in the community.
