What are we going to call the Second Decade starting in under 3 months? The Teens? The Tens? The Twenteens?

We are ending the decade of the Noughties, before that we had the Nineties, the Eighties, the Seventies, the Swinging Sixties and even before that the Swinging Twenties. Everybody has been so focussed on the fallout of the Great Recession globally that this Second Decade is coming up so quickly. Is it something to do with "teens"? If we go back one hundred years it was in the middle of the build up for European empires for WW1. If we go back 200 years we land smack in the middle of the 1815 Industrial Revolution. Some technical people might say that the new decade actually starts on 1 Jan 2011 (similar arguments used in 2000 v 2001 debate but lost when the number 2000 appeared). The Noughties was book-ended by 9/11 and the Great Recession. The start of the Second Decade will be marked by the upturn by many countries. The "Second Decade" sounds bland - what are your thoughts on this decade branding issue? What are some of your suggested Second Decade names? Here are some of the great ideas I got back when I first posed this question: The Teens. The Tens. The Twenteens. The Twenty-teenies. The 2-0 tens (the two xero tens). Can these suggestions be bettered?

I seem to have answered this before.

I suggest "The Twenteens".

But that likely is too clever and
it will likely be "The Twenty-Tens".

The first decade is always called, "The Naughties"...
The second decade is always called. "The Tenies"...

Good luck...
