I wanted to know the success rate for the vacancies that are posted on LinkedIn job board. Any inputs would be appreciated.

I would rather say, companies do contact prospective candidates directly via linked in. So if you gonna post an oppportunity for a client firm who's mandate you have to hire, chances are that your client could have contacted potential hires directly through linkedin.Alternatively, an opportunity posted by a company on linked in would have many applications directly made to it. However it is good to use linkedin as a search to get in touch with potential hires rather than a posting ( that is if you are hiring on behalf of your client)

For your question about success rate of jobs posted on LinkedIn, I don't think that there is any study or stats to show. However, one can assume that success rate is very high, and here are some statistics to support the assumption -

"The company(LinkedIn) reported 105% YTY growth in quarterly revenues to $167.7 Million.The real story is the huge jump in revenues from LinkedIn’s recruiting services (“Hiring Solutions”). Revenues in this segment grew by 136% to $84.9 Million, making the company the fastest growing public provider of corporate recruiting solutions."

So you see, $84.9 million( grew by 136% as compare to last year) out of $167.7 Million in LinkedIn's revenues comes from Hiring solutions, it means recruiters believes that LinkedIn is perfect place for finding huge database of talent , and why recruiters believes that ? Cause, candidates search jobs on LinkedIn. In other words both recruiters and job seekers have found LinkedIn a perfect place to server their respective purpose.

It depends on the kind of accounts you have.

Job postings have generally been seen as the poorer cousin to direct sourcing as most companies use the post and pray approach.

If you already have a recruiter account or a premium account with signficant network, likely the respondents to your LinkedIN job post would have been visible to you and just needed you to do a search.

If you do not have any of the accounts I mentioned above, it might be helpful..

It works well. I mean the chances of you getting the best profile is high specially for senior level positions. Compared to any job site, more senior professionals are a part of this as it is a professional networking site, hence your reach is more not only to active candidates but also to passive candidates.

The chances of converting it will be really high.
