What's the prognosis for LinkedIn for Groups?
How long has LinkedIn for Groups been closed to new requests? When is it expected to return? The LinkedIn site talks about the wonders of LinkedIn for Groups as if it's still available, but when I try the "Request a Group" link, it says "LinkedIn for Groups is currently under construction" and "Sorry, we are not able to accept new group requests now." It provides no update of status, so I can't tell whether it went out of service 10 seconds before I first looked and it'll be back later today, or whether it's been that way for many months and won't return to service for many months to come.

I was told by a LI CSR that the LI Group functionality would be back by the end of August.
Back in June I created a LI group for high-tech folks in Austin, Texas, and apparently did it just before they closed the door on new group applications. Hopefully by end of the month there will be a big leap in this functionality.
