Why my profile almost don't show up in LinkedIn searches?
I'm an expert in Location Based Services and Indoor Navigation.
When I search for those terms (from my profile or from friends) I show up last in the list or even don't show up.
I try different type of keyword combinations but it doesn't seems to help. Even people that are not related to this field and without those keywords appear before me...
Any idea?

The first "People" search lists people in order of their connection to you. Click the "keyword" preference and the list will re-sort somewhat.
Make sure all keywords are listed in the Summary portion of your profile, under Interests. List keywords, separated by commas. Do not in fact put other extracurricular activities there.

Judy's suggestion on Nate Kievman is the best you can ever get - Your keywords have to be in your tagline, position, experience, summary etc...
Analyze the profiles of the people that appear before you in the search, and count the number of keywords in their profile, the way they are put together and where and how they are put in a profile and keep tweaking your profile
Join the LI strategies group, they have a blog also that has a lot of videos that are the most helpful in that matter

Well, one issue might be that people aren't searching for those specific terms - Location Based Services and Indoor Navigation.Frankly, I'm not sure myself what they involve. I'd suggest figuring out what the related keyword terms are for those keywords, then repurposing your credentials in LinkedIn to speak to those keywords. Good luck! Steve de Luca
